Sport

It is the policy of the school to provide a wide range of activities to cater for the needs of as many students as possible. This range of activities is made possible by the commitment and co-operation of the staff. All students are encouraged to participate in these activities benefits both staff and students and strengthens the sense of the school as a community.

The Patrician High School recognises the value of sport in promoting a healthy lifestyle. Team sports bring our pupils together in a spirit of cooperation and fun. The school has the use of a fully equipped modern gymnasium and outdoor playing fields, both of which support our extensive Physical Education programme which is an important part of our weekly timetable and all classes from first year to Transition Year avail of a double class in PE weekly.

High School teams travel throughout the 9 counties of Ulster and to other colleges and venues nationwide and are highly respected for their competitiveness, discipline and sportsmanship. The school is proud of its long association with the Gaelic Athletic Association and fields teams in both Gaelic Football and Hurling competitions. Patrician High School also offers a wide range of sports including Basketball, Soccer, Athletics, Table Tennis, Badminton, Golf and Pitch and Putt. Whatever the sport, our students are always proud to wear the Blue and Yellow of the High School.
