DkIT Computing TY Week

Tuesday 19^th to Thursday 21^st

This week transition year students participated in both a highly informative and innovative opportunity.   Twenty two ardent students travelled daily to Dundalk Institute of Technology, specifically to the Department of Computing and Mathematics, where they were made feel particularly welcome.

During the highly eventful week seventy TY students in total were welcomed to the department located on campus in the Carrolls building.  All students participating joined in lectures, tutorials and other engaging computing fundamentals including an introduction to programming together with web and game development.

Students experienced and familiarised themselves over the three days not only with third level life but were given the chance to absorb how DkIT’s Computing Department functions. TY students have also been presented with the additional prospect of revisiting DkIT and The Computer and Mathematics Department at the end of term to examine project work.
